True Jesus Centennial Thanksgiving Concert on Aug 19

Kota Kinabalu: True Jesus Church's West Coast Zone churches will hold a Centennial Thanksgiving Concert with the theme "100 Years – A Heritage of Spirituality and Grace" this Saturday (Aug 19) at the Donggongon Cultural Centre from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

A spokesman said this concert is one of a series of anniversary activities statewide planned by the General Assembly of True Jesus Church in conjunction with its 100th anniversary of world evangelism.

Entry is free and only for non-Muslims.

More than 10 groups of choir from Kudat, Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Beaufort and other districts will participate in the concert.

The medium of language to be used in the event is Mandarin and will be translated into Bahasa Malaysia.

According to the spokesman, the church's presence in Sabah dates back to 1927, where the seed of the gospel was sown in Sandakan of then North Borneo through a magazine entitled "Holy Spirit Times".

It spread to Kudat the same year, and then Beaufort, Kota Kinabalu and other places the following year.

To date, the church has set foot in more than 60 countries across North America, Europe, Australia, Africa, Central South America and Russia with an estimated total number of 1.5 million members.
