IGP confirms retiring next month, says Noor Rashid will take over

Kuala Lumpur: Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has confirmed that he would be retiring next month.Khalid, who had led the police force for four years, would be celebrating his 60th birthday on September 5."My tenure will end when I am 60.

"For the time being, Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Tan Sri Noor Rashid) would be taking over," he said.Khalid, the country's 10th IGP, had previously kept mum when asked whether his contract would be extended.He had joined the police force in 1976 as an Inspector.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
