Bodies of two missing men found

Lahad Datu: The bodies of two men who were reported missing two days ago while trawling at Sungai Hutan Simpan Ulu Segama were found Thursday.The bodies, identified as that of Ancar, 19, and Aggus, 24, were found during the search and rescue operation conducted since Wednesday.

Ancar's body was found about 250 metres from the scene about 8.01am, while Aggus's body was found around three kilometres from the scene at about 10.47am.

District Fire and Rescue Department Chief Mohd Apandi Mahmood said his department received a distress call at 10.25am on Wednesday and rushed to the scene.

"A search and rescue operation (SAR) was then mounted involving the Fire and Rescue Department, police, Civil Defence Force and villagers.

"The bodies were sent to Lahad Datu Hospital for post-mortem. The operation ended at 11.55am," he added. - Eifa Rizan
