170 take part in Sandakan M'sia Day golf meet

Sandakan: Some 170 golfers participated in the Malaysia Day Golf Tournament held at the Sandakan Golf and Country Club last weekend.The tournament, organised by the Beluran Parliamentary Office, was won by Hii How Won on 150, followed by Safaruddin Abidin (151) and Noor Salleh on 158.The prizes were present by Samad Jambri, the Private Secretary to Beluran MP, Datuk Ronald Kiandee.

Samad, who is also Beluran Umno Youth Chief, said the tournament encourages golfing in the district. According to Samad, the event was well-received by golfers from the district, Kinabatangan and Beluran.A donation was also presented to the Taman Didikan Kanak-Kanak Kurang Upaya Sandakan which was received by its supervisor, Fauzi Said.Meanwhile, for the nett category, the champion was Mohd Fazla (139) followed by Henry Chu (139) and Samad Jambri (140).
