Kota Kinabalu: DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang has spoken out on the Registrar of Societies (ROS) stance of keeping quiet regard the legality of the party. He added they are having issues with fixing the party congress dates because the ROS has been keeping quiet over the matter.

"Since ROS doesn't recognise our 2012 elections so we need out sort our this problem first with them.

"First we were supposed to be having the party congress on Sept 10.

"Suddenly the ROS realised we are prepared and there was no further answer from them, hence the date past already. We than suggested October 1, and still no answer from them," he said while questioning how could the ROS act in such a manner.

He said whatever it is the matter would be handled by the party.

Lim said this after officiating the DAP Kota Kinabalu mooncake and lantern festival celebrations at Damai plaza shops on Sunday night.

Meanwhile Lim Said he would also be proposing Sabah DAP women's chief Jannie Lasimbang as one of their DAP Central Executive Committee members. However, it will only be after the ROS issues was resolved.

On the issue of seats in the State Sabah DAP Chairman Stephen Wong said they finished two negotiations within Pakatan Harapan and that more of 80 per cent of the seats were confirmed.

"There are only a few of the overlapping seats to be finalised. We are still open to local parties who are genuine in working with us.

"As soon as we finalised our Pakatan Harapan negotiations we will try to reach out to friendly local parties to topple BN. We should be able to settle the matter shortly and on Sept 22, we will also be launching our Sabah Manifesto."

He said that Jannie would also be the coordinator for the Kepayan State Seat as the seat was vacant and she could continue her good work and service to the people there.

On whether she could be the next candidate for the seat, Wong just said maybe. - Niel Chan
