Sabahan Eddy wins long jump gold

Kuala Lumpur: Debutant Eddy Bernard (pic) stole the limelight on Tuesday by winning the men's long jump T37 (cerebral palsy) with a personal best of 5.76m at the Kuala Lumpur Asean Para Games.It was the second gold for the 16-year-old from Sabah. On Monday, he won the 100m with a personal best of 12.45 seconds.

Eddy was delighted to have recorded two personal bests in two days.

"It has been a memorable outing for me and I believe that I have a bright future in athletics," said Eddy, whose previous best was 5.71m in the long jump.- Star
