Kota Kinabalu: The national university football team lost their opening game 4-0 to Korea in the Asian University Football Championship in Taebaek, South Korea, Wednesday. The team coach by Sabahan Asraaf Fong Abdullah was only 1-0 down in the first half before the home side turned on the power to score three more goals in the second half.

"The gap between the two team was too far. The quality of the Korean players is very good with very high individual techniques, and I would say they are even better than our local Malaysian league players," he said.

The team who are drawn together with defending champion Japan A, Korea B, Iran A and Thailand will next take on Japan on Sunday (Sept 23). – GL Oh
