Tawau: Another student has been reported missing in the district, this time involving a Form Four male student from Jambatan Tengku Osman, Mile 3½, Kuhara.

District Police Chief ACP Fadil Marsus said the latest missing person report was lodged by Muhammad Nazrin Firman's mother after he failed to return home on Oct 7.

The 40-year-old woman lodged the report at 10.27am on Tuesday after a futile search for him around the district. She told the police that Muhammad Nazrin left home at about 10am on Saturday without bringing along his handphone and MyKad. Neither did he show any signs of wanting to run away from home.

Her worries grew after he failed to return home by 8pm, especially since he has never returned home late.

Initial investigation revealed that the teenager, the fourth of eight siblings, stayed close to his family and has no problems with family members.

The woman and the boy's aunt even went to his school at Jalan Guru on Tuesday to meet his class teacher at about 8am.

"His class teacher told them that Muhammad Nazrin had been absent from school since Monday (Oct 9) and assumed that he was unwell," he said.

A week ago, a Form Two female student from Lorong Bukit 2, Jalan Apas, was also reported missing by her mother. - Lagatah Toyos
