PETALING JAYA: Malaysian entrepreneurs have been urged to be successful in both local and international markets, says the Bumiputra Agenda Steering Committee (TERAJU) of the Prime Minister's Department. Its Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Husni Salleh, said the businesses may achieve these objectives by being inspired from the best in the business.

"Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to be competitive and emulate international brands," he told reporters on the sidelines of the soft-launch for the 'Global Marketing Summit: Selling Your Brand to the World' here Monday.

Husni said the summit would provide an inspirational and aspirational platform to Malaysian companies, particularly SMEs.

He said the one-day summit would feature famous speakers like Starbucks Co-Founder, Zev Siegl, former Manchester United's Marketing Director, Peter Draper, Porsche and BMW Managing Director Levon Gaskell, and Apperentice Asia winner, Jonathan Yabut.

He said the summit, organised by TERAJU's flagship unit, National Institute of Entrepreneurship, aimed to educate and inspire local entrepreneurs on how to propel Malaysian home-grown brands worldwide.

The summit will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Nov 16, 2017, he said. – Bernama
