Matlan to lead side in four-team invitational meet

Kota Kinabalu: Former national striker Matlan Marjan will lead Sabah Ex-State Players Association in the four-team tournament held in conjunction with the birthday celebration of the Pahang Sultan starting tomorrow (Saturday).The association's President Datuk James Wong, who is one of the officials for the team together with Datuk Hassan Sani and Stanley Chew, said they are invited by the host to participate in the two-day competition together with teams featuring ex-Malaysia, ex-Singapore and ex-Pahang players."We are very proud to be invited ahead of Penang, Selangor and other top teams for the tournament.

We are not setting any target as our main aim is to foster friendship with our counterparts from Singapore and the Peninsula," he said on Thursday after leading some members of the association to pay visit to Sabah Football Association Deputy President Datuk Lawrence Gimbang.Apart from Matlan, other team members are Simon Sambang, Junaidi Tuah, Charles Tindi, Paddy Edwin, Paul Hopin, Kasim @ Sammy Ismail, Yahya Kassim, Karti Tukimin, Dominic Minsi, Cyril Gom, Jainin Tinin, Razali Zinin, Gerald Mojiliu, Dul Alias, Datuk Zulfikar Ahmad, Eddie Lohan, Aliaran Nulantan, Yassin Jimbun and Affendy Tan with Azman Mastar as team manger and Malim Surat as coach.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
