New Party eyes Penampang seat

Penampang: Kepayan Assemblyman Dr Edwin Bosi joined Parti Anak Negeri (PAN), Thursday, and immediately announced he will be standing in Penampang for a parliamentary seat in the coming general polls.The ex-DAP member handed over his membership application to PAN President Datuk Hendrynus Amin at Datuk Peter Mojuntin Square here.

The ceremony was witnessed by several party leaders and members from various places like Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Putatan and other nearby areas.

Presently, he said he and the party would be assessing it strength, relevance in all the areas to come out with best strategies to secure enough seats to form the next Sabah government after the G 14.

Replying to a question, Dr Bosi stressed that PAN's existence resonates with the natives very well and creates opportunity for the natives to realise that there is now a party for them to come home to.

Bosi said PAN is the vehicle for Malaysians in Sabah to change the destiny of Sabahans in the context of the political landscape that is happening now.

Meanwhile, in welcoming the first assemblyman in Parti Anak Negeri, Hendrynus confirmed that Bosi would be leading the branch in Penampang to prepare for G14.

Hendrynus also revealed that the party already has a membership strength of 15,000 in a matter of three months and more are expected to join PAN in the very near future. - Nikko Fabian
