Play suspended due to bad light

Kota Kinabalu: The opening day of the 17th SGA Cup competition between Sabah and Sarawak at the Sabah Golf and Country Club here on Tuesday was suspended and will resume this morning (Wednesday).

Both teams were tied 3-3 after the morning foursome session and the fourballs session in the afternoon was unable to finish due to bad light.

The host's three points came from Hillary Tan/Firdaus @ Diddy who beat Lokman Mustafa/Johari Aman 6 & 4 and the two young pairing of Albright Chong/Christopher James and Jordan Mobijohn/Fazley Chua delivered the two points by defeating Lee Ka Ching/Malcom Ting and Lee Kah Ming/Steven Hii with identical 2-1 scorelines.

The three points from Sarawak were through Lau Ching Leong/Samsudin Molok who beat Chang Vui Kiong/Casper Loh 5 & 4, Aw Yon JJ /Lee Ka Tung with a 5 & 3 defeat of Mitchell Steel/Safarrudin Abidin, and the 6 & 5 victory from Hassan Rahmat /Aziel Teo over Brandon Lai/Zariq Encho.
