Nine held over Papar armed robbery, burglary and theft

Papar: Police here rounded up nine men while another is still being traced believed involved in separate cases.District Police Chief DSP Ladamah Sulaiman said the cases involved armed robbery, burglary and theft.Ladamah said in the first case, police arrested two locals, aged 15 and 19, while another accomplice is still on the lose believed part of an armed robbery at a 24-hour mini store, Lok Kawi on Monday.

The duo were arrested at their homes in Kinarut on Tuesday where police seized several items including two knives, a phone and a tablet. The suspects allegedly threatened the store worker at knife point and manage to flee with RM600 in a Perodua Viva.Police are tracing the third suspect believed to be the owner of the car."The suspects arrested were positive for drugs and the case will be investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code," Ladamah told at a press conference, Wednesday.

In another case, two jobless men, aged 29 and 54 were arrested for suspicion of having broken into a shop, stealing RM1,000 that was noticed by a worker, on Monday. The suspects were arrested on Tuesday following information and investigations carried out by police.In the third case, four men aged 16 to 30 were detained for alleged involvement in a house break-in at a village in the district on Oct 25.
