Disgruntled distributor super glues hand on floor

PETALING JAYA: A local Caltex distributor super glued his hands to the floor of the office lobby of Chevron Malaysia Limited in protest against the company's decision to terminate an agreement with local distributors.Haji Fazilah, who was affected by the termination, arrived at the company's office in Menara Millenium on Monday (Nov 20) to press for settlement claims of the Caltex stations registered as Nagasari Kristal and Blue Petroleum.Kanba Khairul, an activist for NGO Semboyan1Malaysia told The Star that Haji Fazilah has resolved to stay at the lobby for a week until Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak or Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin came to remedy the situation.

"All we wanted was to have a meeting with them to resolve this problem," he said.Chevron Malaysia Limited has denied any wrongdoings and says that any allegations are "untrue and misleading".In a statement to The Star, Chevron Malaysia Limited clarified that a total of seven local retailers were served with termination notices."The decision to terminate the contracts has been communicated and the termination process was carried out in accordance with the contractual agreement between the parties.
