Junior archers bag two golds, three silvers

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah junior archers returned with two gold and three silver medals in the Back-up Talents Second Series Carnival Championship, held at SK Sungai Talam, Pahang from November 22-26.The team delivered the goods in the boys and girls 11-13-year-old category with the three-girl team of Trinity Manavai Christinillus, Renee Sew Pei Xuan, Ekaputri Aqeela Bte Ali under the care of coach Francisco Cisco taking the gold in the team Olympics rounds while Muhammad Dzulhelmi B Dzulkarnain, Jassel Lu Chun Vui, Muhammad Azmi B Bacho coached by Charley Chia also clinched the same title in the boys event.The two teams also finished second in the overall team events while Trinity also contributed silver in the individual Olympics rounds.

One hundred and thirteen athletes from 18 state teams and district centres took part in the five-day event with Sabah represented by Muhammad Dzulhelmi B Dzulkarnain (SM All Saints, KK), Jassel Lu Chun Vui (SM All Saints, KK), Muhammad Azmi B Bacho (SK Desa Subur, Tawau), Putra Mohamad Fyirdous B Harun (SK Pekan Papar), Aiman Syafie B Alidin (SMA Tun Ahmad Shah, KK), Muhammad Dzulkifli B Dzulkarnain (SRK ST.
