35 teams battling for RM20k grand prize

Ranau: A total of 35 football teams from across Sabah convened here on Dec 1 to battle each other for the coveted RM20,000 grand prize offered in the Datuk Joachim Gunsalam Cup Football Tournament.Kicking off the tournament, which will be held for five consecutive months at the Ranau Sports Complex, was a match between Marakau MIX vs Telipok Veteran, where the former beat the latter 4-3.Organising Chairman, Jason George said apart from the RM20,000 for the champions, the tournament also offers RM11,000 for second place, RM7,000 for third place and RM5,000 for fourth place.ADVERTISEMENT "The objective of the tournament is to discover new talents that could be lifted to higher level.
