Maxis 4G Sabah coverage now 89pc

Kota Kinabalu: Maxis has expanded its 4G network to cover 89 per cent of the population of Sabah.Maxis' Head of Sabah Region Ng Chak Khin said its 4G network has been expanded to even more locations beyond key towns in the State.

"Customers in the towns of Papar, Kimanis, Beaufort, Felda Sahabat, Balung, Sipitang, Kota Belud, Kudat, Kota Marudu, Ranau, Keningau, Semporna, Labuan, Pulau Gaya, Pulau Mantananni, Pulai Mabol and Pulau Kapalai can now enjoy fast 4G speeds on their mobile phones for surfing and streaming," he said during a media luncheon, here, Thursday.

"Our priority is to continue to deliver a great Internet experience through our number one 4G network and worry-free products.

"We are also continuously enhancing our customers' experience, which includes expanding our retail and online presence."

On the products side, he said, Maxis recently upgraded all its MaxisONE plan customers with 10GB of data to share, which can be used every day – with more data to share.

"MaxisONE Home Fibre was also officially launched earlier this year in East Malaysia, which offers fast home Internet speeds of up to 100Mbps, unlimited data, voice calls and professional Wi-Fi setup.

"For prepaid, Hotlink FAST was introduced in East Malaysia in June this year, offering customers free 8GB of 4G Internet every weekend each month, 1,000 min of free calls to Friendz and free 30GB of Hotlink Happy Hour.

"Hotlink customers can also enjoy 999GB of free fast Facebook every day," he said.

And exclusive for East Malaysia customers, Hotlink recently teamed up with Grab to launch the Hotlink FAST Track GrabRewards promotion.

Ng said in addition to launching new products and services, Maxis also continues to expand its retail footprint in Sabah to better serve customers.

"In 2017, Maxis opened two new Maxis Centres at Api Api and Lintas, as well as 10 new hybrid stores, covering Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Putatan, Sipitang, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Keningau, Beaufort and Semporna," he said.
