Golden Tale and Honeyta gallop to Cup wins

Kota Kinabalu: Golden Tale which carries 58kg on its back, won the New Year Cup by 2 ¾ length at the Christmas and New Year Cup races organised by the Royal Sabah Turf Club (RSTC) at the Tambalang race course on Monday.Its owner, Ocean Stable, received the prize money of RM5,250.Coming in second was King Arthur, followed by Magic Opa in third place and last year's winner Super One in fourth place.

The four-forecast paid a handsome dividend of RM893.As for the Christmas Cup, Honeyta carrying the bottom weight of 52kg emerged winner.Honeyta was ably handled by its jockey Hazreen, who kept his pony in the middle and only raced strongly at the home stretch, beating competitor City Spider by 1 ¼ length.For the win, the owner was rewarded the top prize of RM11,000.
