KEMABONG: Kg Kapulu Village Development and Security Committee Chairperson Ansarap Korong has denied stating that the Rural Electricity Supply Project (BELB) funds for the village amounted to RM47.6 million.Ansarap, through a video recording, said that he only mentioned the villagers' dissatisfaction towards the government, especially the Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKLW) as there have not been any power supply for almost five years.

"We just want to know from KKLW why electricity have yet been supplied to the village when the wiring and substation construction work has been completed and urged the government to find a solution.

"We are not blaming anyone, not even leaders, we just want KKLW and its executor to solve this problem and not prolong our suffering," he said in a media conference.

According to Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB), the department could not give a real picture on the project status because it has not been handed over to SESB by the implementing parties before SESB lists it for further monitoring. – Mail Mathew
