Ambrose is made Senator
Published on: Sunday, January 14, 2018

Penampang: Penampang Umno division Chief Datuk John Ambrose has been appointed Senator by the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong.

He will take his oath in Parliament on Tuesday.

John, 66, a Kadazandusun, has come a long way in local politics, starting from the United Sabah National Organisation (Usno) era.

Along with other former Usno members, he joined Umno when the party set foot in Sabah and served as the Penampang Umno division chief for four terms now.

Thanking Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman for the appointment, John said he would continue to serve the community in the district to the best of his ability.

He also said he will work harder to ensure both the Penampang parliamentary and State seats would return to the BN in the coming General Election. – Leonard Alaza
