PETALING JAYA: The magistrate's court here has extended the remand of actor and director Datuk Farid Kamil for one more day.Farid was arrested on Jan 11 for allegedly slapping a police officer and kicking two members of the public at the Kota Damansara traffic police station.Magistrate's court assistant registrar Hairul Azhar Mohd Ishak issued the extended remand order for the 37-year-old on Monday (Jan 15).

Farid, who was present in court at about 11.30am, appeared calm.

Lawyer Athari Bahardin said his client was being investigated under Section 353 of the Penal Code for criminal assault of a public servant, Section 323 of the same Act and Section 90 of the Police Act for disorderly conduct and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
