Last chance for PR1MA house
Kota Kinabalu: PR1MA Corporation Malaysia (PR1MA) continues to deliver fairly priced affordable homes with lifestyle and community concepts for the middle-income group (M40) through the PR1MA Open Day at The Klagan Regency Ballroom at 1Borneo Hypermall, here, this weekend. Today (Sunday) is the last day of the open day until 5pm for the public to avail themselves of the opportunity to buy a PR1MA home.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had announced two policy changes to enable more people to own a house under the 1Malaysia People's Housing (PR1MA) programme.

He said the two changes were raising the household income eligibility from RM10,000 to RM15,000 and shortening the moratorium on house sale and rental from 10 years to five years.

"The eligibility income level increase to RM15,000 is to enable more people to own a PR1MA house, apart from shortening the moratorium period. These are among measures taken by the Government that is committed to enabling people, especially the target group, to own a PR1MA house," he said.

"PR1MA homes are targeted at M40 or the middle-income segment, while SPNB (Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad) focuses on B40. We know that sometimes our lowest prices overlap with SPNB's homes at their highest price level," explained PR1MA Assistant Vice President for Corporate Communications, Anna Maria Binti Samsudin.

The Saturday-Sunday sales event featured a new development, PR1MA @ Manggatal.

PR1MA Chief Executive Officer Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias said the open day served as a platform to engage home buyers as well as an opportunity to educate the public on the process of registering and applying for a PR1MA house as well as counselling in managing monthly repayment.

"We hope aspiring home buyers will learn more about our special end-financing scheme, known as Skim Pembiayaan Fleksibel (SPEF), an attractive financing option to assist them in owning PR1MA homes," he added.

Available since February 2017, SPEF provides PR1MA home buyers with better access to a higher loan amount with monthly home loan instalments at affordable levels.

Abdul Mutalib said with this scheme, home buyers would be able to enjoy monthly instalments as low as RM880 or RM30 a day, subject to the terms and conditions as well as eligibility.

Interested applicants need to apply for SPEF through PR1MA partner banks Maybank, CIMB, RHB and AmBank.

PR1MA @ Menggatal is on sale with a starting price of RM243,600. Located north of the town's growth centre and within the proximity of University Malaysia Sabah (UMS), this high-rise gated property comes with common amenities such as security service, CCTV, a multipurpose hall, nursery and a surau.

Among other projects in Sabah that will be up for sale in the first three months of this year are PR1MA @ Borneo Cove (999 units), PR1MA @ Kota Marudu (360 units), PR1MA @ Ranggu (1,300 units), PR1MA @ Kinarut South (502 units), PR1MA @ ManggataI (1,200 units), PR1MA @ Sandakan City Centre (750 units) and PR1MA @ Kota Marudu 2 (360 units). - David Thien
