Terengganu: The Terengganu Football Club (TFC) has chosen Park Seung Il from South Korea to replace his countryman Kim Hyun Woo who is injured and unable to play in the 2018 Malaysian League (M League).TFC head coach, Irfan Bakti Abdul Salim said Kim Hyun Woo was seriously injured and would take a long time to recover.

"Hyun Woo's services are now taken over by Seung Il, but Seung Il will not be fielded in the first game as he is still not fully fit. He will play as attacker but his role is slightly different from Hyun Woo's.

"He needs to polish up a bit and so far, he has been training for three days at TFC camp, and god willing, he will be fielded in the second or third game," he said when contacted Saturday.

Hyun Woo, a striker with the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNP FC) last season, has to rest for up to six months due to his injury, thus this became a factor for the Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT) to seek another import player to replace him.

In a related development, Irfan said they had tested the starting line-up for February.

"We also have tested our main starting line-up in a friendly against Macerra Kuantan FC two days ago and I am delighted that there is an improvement in the players' technical understanding.

"Starting from pre-season matches in Cambodia, the four-cornered tournament for the Terengganu Menteri Besar Cup has shown the players' compatibility.– Bernama
