UMS achieve 2-gold target

Kota Kinabalu: University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) finally achieved their two-gold target in the Malaysian Higher Learning Institution Sports Meet (SUKIT) in UKM, Thursday.Cristina Ideris, who missed out on gold in the silat E-Class final on Tuesday, came good in the karate kumite +68kg category by beating Siti Hajar Mohd Azhar from UiTM in the final.

The team have now won two golds, five silvers and one bronze with the other gold from the taekwondo poomsae mixed pair of Armay Radi and Nur Ifa Husnah Saiful while the silvers, apart from Cristina's, coming from the men poomsae team (Song Lubiou,Dominic Sew Khai Yuan, Bernicael Bernard Anak Megol) and women team poomsae (Helena A'An Lisu, Cheong Pui Yen) as well as one from men individual (Ahmady Radi), while the only bronze came from women individual (Cheong Pui Yien). – GL Oh
