Kuala Lumpur: Datuk Lee Chong Wei is not focused on regaining his World No. 1 ranking.Chong Wei, the World No. 2, has a chance of reclaiming the top ranking from world champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark if he wins the All England men's singles title in Birmingham on March 14-18.

Although, Axelsen is in the All England draw, the Dane is expected to withdraw following an ankle surgery on Feb 15.

"Being World No 1 again is not important as I have been there before. I am focused on the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Thomas Cup and the Indonesia Asian Games," said the four-time All England winner, reported the New Straits Times.

"I am not setting a ranking target. I just want to maintain my form and do my best in tournaments."

Chong Wei has been handed a tough draw in Birmingham.

The 36-year-old, who opens against Brazil's Ygor Coelho, is likely to face Dane Jan O Jorgensen and five-time world champion Lin Dan in the second round and quarter-finals, respectively.

"I do not want to comment on the draw... I will take each round accordingly.

I will speak to my coaches and come up with a plan to prepare for each match," Chong Wei added.
