Kota Kinabalu: A 46-year-old local was charged with inserting his private part into his eight-year-old daughter's anus.The man pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim to the charge against him on Thursday.He allegedly committed carnal intercourse against the order of nature on the daughter between 7am and 7.30am on Feb 13, this year at a house in Kingfisher, here.

The offence under Section 377C of the Penal Code provides a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, on conviction.Noor Hafizah set March 26 for case management and no bail was offered to the man following an objection by the prosecution.Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor Dinesh Raja objected to bail on the grounds that the alleged victim is the man's daughter and there was a high possibility he would tamper with the prosecution witnesses, especially the daughter.The man, who was not represented, asked for a bail saying he has a family to look after.

In the same court, a man claimed trial to committing criminal breach of trust involving RM18,191.25 belonging to a company.Jubelee Iming, 41, is accused of embezzling the sales proceeds entrusted to him by Popular Ryn's Sdn Bhd at the office in Lokawi, Papar, between March 10 and Dec 4, 2017.
