PASIR PUTEH: Puteri Umno has nominated 15 names to be fielded as Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates in the 14th General Election (GE14), said its chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin.She said Puteri Umno had submitted the names to BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for consideration."I hope that the party leadership will give the opportunity to young women to represent BN in GE14 as the candidates being proposed have the potential to win," she said when met by reporters after the spectacles aid presentation here Friday.

Also present were Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Senator Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and Selising assemblyman Zulkifli Ali.Mas Ermieyati, who is also Deputy Tourism and Culture Minister, however did not disclose the list of names and the constituencies that were expected to be contested by Puteri members.
She said in the last GE13, the movement contested in nine parliamentary and state seats. Meanwhile, she added over 30,000 Puteri grassroots members in 161 parliamentary seats were ready to face the GE14, which is expected to be held soon.
