Girl, 15, killed in rail horror
Kota Kinabalu: A 15-year-old girl who was forced to stand near the door because the Beaufort to Tenom train was full paid with her life when she was dragged 50 metres after her leg got trapped when she decided to sit with her legs jutting out of the train. The tragedy occurred at 3.30pm at KM62 Beaufort-Tenom on Monday. According to Beaufort Police Chief DSP Azmir Abd Razak, Siti Intan Suraya Ambran was travelling with her 19-year-old cousin.

Azmir said they decided to stand near train door because it was full.

About 10 minutes after departing from Beaufort train station, it was believed that the cousins decided to sit due to the shaky ride with the victim's knee partially sticking out of the train car.

"The cousin heard the victim scream after her leg got entangled with a piece of wood before falling to the ground.

Her left leg was caught on the track and she was dragged 50meters from where she fell," he said.

Investigating Officers arrived the scene and brought the victim to the hospital by the train but she was pronounced dead by medical officers.

The victim's body was brought to Beaufort Hospital for post mortem.

Azmir said initial investigations showed the incident occurred at a place where there was a landslide.
