SKA grab third spot at National Senior C'ship

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Karate Association (SKA) finished in third place at the 38th National Senior Championship in Kulim, Kedah held over the weekend.They returned with three golds, one silver and seven bronzes with the gold won by Pressy Misty Philip (women kumite -68kg), Audrey Japrus (women kumite +68kg) and Azreen Ag Hashim (men kumite-67kg).The only silver came from the women team kata of Juslin Juman, Nur Ayeen Terance and Elyanna Chrisma Jupin while the bronze was delivered by Vellcarallyne Agustine, Olevia Demius (women individual kata), Lejianah Yantoni (kumite-68kg), men team kata (Josvin Jase, Azad Haziq Henry, Cleverlence Carlos), Stanley Dulian, Ricahl Mattan (men kumite -55kg), and the men team kumite.ADVERTISEMENT SKA Secretary General Julian was pleased with the performance of the athletes but reckoned there is still room for improvement."It was a better outing than last year where we only managed two golds, but we need to do more development and try to improve as well as to educate our coaches too.
