Hilton optimistic of Penang's tourism

GEORGE TOWN: Global hotel brand, Hilton, is optimistic of Penang's tourism sector following the opening of the country's first DoubleTree Resort at the popular tourist belt of Batu Ferringhi.DoubleTree Resort General Manager, Linda Giebing, said since the hotel began operating in January this year, its occupancy rate had been great."We offer 316 rooms, conference and event facilities, a ballroom which could accommodate up to 550 guests as well as three function spaces covering an area of more than 5,000 square feet (sq ft).

"We are confident that our local community and guests will be captivated by our renowned Care – "Creating A Rewarding Experience" standard of hospitality," she told Bernama when met on the sidelines of the hotel's media preview here on Thursday.Also present were Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and Hilton Malaysia Regional General Manager Jamie Mead.The RM230 million DoubleTree Penang is the brand's fourth property in Malaysia, following DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Melaka.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Giebing said DoubleTree Resort Penang also featured a special tourist attraction – Teddyville, Malaysia's first teddy bear-themed museum and gallery, located within the building.
