PETALING JAYA: Parti Amanah Negara will use its own logo in Sabah in the general election, where it will contest two parliamentary seats and two state seats. It will use the Keadilan logo in Sarawak and all other seats.

The splinter party of PAS, which is part of Pakatan Harapan, will contest a total of 35 parliamentary seats in the coming election – 27 in Peninsular Malaysia, six in Sarawak and two in Sabah.

It will also be contesting in 113 state assembly seats.

Amanah secretary-general Anuar Tahir said all candidates taking part in GE14 would take an oath pledging their loyalty to the party in an internal ceremony today.

This oath, however, is unlike the oath of allegiance (bai'ah) practised by PAS, which compels its elected representatives to annul their marriages if they switch parties.

Anuar said this oath was to show that the party had settled its candidacy issues.
