MIRI: The truce between the Sarawak United Peoples Party (SUPP) and the United Peoples Party (UPP) is holding up well, said SUPP Information Chief Adam Yii."The common goal is to make sure Barisan wins back as many urban parliamentary seats as possible," said Yii.

The Miri Mayor said even though SUPP and UPP have their own programmes to reach out to voters, both are doing it for the common purpose of ensuring a Barisan victory.

"That is a good development ahead of polling day," said Yii when contacted on Saturday.

Meanwhile, SUPP President Datuk Dr Prof Sim Kui Hian will be arriving in Miri on Saturday to meet people at the Senadin SUPP branch office.

UPP was formed by former leaders of SUPP some three years ago following prolonged leadership disputes.
