Hotel assures no repeat
Published on: Friday, April 20, 2018

Kota Kinabalu: Gaya Centre Hotel Director Justin Chong assured it will advise guests not to dry clothes at the road divider in front of the premises.

He said the hotel does provide laundry services at reasonable rates.

His assurance came after photos of a China tourist drying clothes on a road divider near the hotel premises went viral in social media on Wednesday.

The photos showed women's apparel and t-shirts, some with clothes hangers, drying in the sun on wooden support for trees along the road divider placed by City Hall.

This prompted Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai to visit the site at 5pm on Wednesday and again at 7am on Thursday.

However, upon checking the clothes were not there.

Yeo said the matter will be monitored by City Hall's enforcement personnel from time to time.
