"I was taught from day one since joining politics not to sabotage my friends. Sabah's Father of Independence, Tun Datu Mustapha, also taught me not to betray my friends, party, people and country.

"Most important, Islam also teaches us to be sincere in our fight and be fair in whatever actions towards every race," he said, when officiating the Majlis Jalinan Kasih Bersama Nelayan Sandakan and the launching of Persatuan Nelayan Kawasan Sandakan (Pelibar) at the Dewan Masyarakat Sandakan, Saturday.

He said various assistance have been given to fishermen in addition to the monthly allowances.

"Fishermen are also assisted by the National Fisheries Development Authority (Federal Government) and Ko-Nelayan (State government)," he said.
