Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Rhinos need to start winning more matches if they want to extend their stay at the top half of the Premier League table standings this season, said head coach Jelius Ating.Despite their unbeaten record, the team only managed three wins with four draws in seven matches played.

They are now in third spot with 13 points, six points behind leaders Felda United and one adrift of Sarawak in second.

The team will take on UKM FC at the Stadium Majlis Perbandaran Selayang at 4.45 this afternoon (Tuesday) and the head coach urged the players to go all out for a win.

"We need to start winning more matches as we are not in a comfort zone yet. As the result of the four draws, we have dropped one place below Sarawak to third despite them losing once, and we are still unbeaten," he said on Monday.

He is also aware that the team below are fast catching up with Felcra FC now level on points in fourth and Misc-Mifa are only three points behind in fifth.

According to him, special attention has been given to the players to sharpen their finishing skills during the recent training sessions.

"We have been playing well in all our matches so far and had created a lot of scoring opportunities but failed to find the net to win the games.

"We need to be more clinical enough to win games, the quality of our games is there but at the moment we need to back it up with points.

"The match tomorrow will give the players the chance to get all three points. UKM may be at the bottom of the table standing right now but we will not underestimate them.

"We respect all our opponents and I hope the players will stay focussed and get the job done." - GL Oh
