Tuaran: Former Tamparuli assemblyman Datuk Jahid Jahim said he is well-prepared physically and mentally to wrest back the Tamparuli state seat from Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) President Datuk Seri Wilfred M Bumburing.Jahid, who is now Tamparuli Community Development Leader, said Barisan Nasional (BN) continued to serve the people in the area even after the coalition lost the seat in the 13th General Election (GE13)."Based on the decision of the BN top leadership, Tamparuli is part of Parti Bersatu Sabah's (PBS) quota," he said, Monday.ADVERTISEMENT "And the party together with other BN component parties continue to work hard for the people in Tamparuli after GE13."Leaving it for the top leadership to decide on BN candidate in Tamparuli, Jahid said, if he is chosen, then he would give his best for the coalition.Previously, it was reported that Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman, who is also State BN chairman had hinted that Jahid will be fielded there again, in the 14th General Election (GE14)."Based on the feedback at the grass-roots level, we noted that the people want Tamparuli to return to the mainstream political faction – BN, especially on their aspiration for further development.ADVERTISEMENT "The desire to return Tamparuli to BN is high and encouraging," he said.In the last election, Jahid lost narrowly to Bumburing by 383 votes where the seat witnessed a five-cornered fight between PKR, BN, Star, SAPP and an independent candidate.
