Mositun clocks out for the last time
Kota Kinabalu: Datuk Johnny Mositun who served as State Deputy Speaker for over 10 years clocked out from his office at the State Legislative Assembly here for the last time Friday following expiry of his tenure on May 19.He was first appointed to the post on April 28, 2008 and his term actually ended on May 19 but since the date falls on Saturday, he decided to pack all his belongings and left the office on May 18 (Friday).

"First, I would like to thank Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan who is Parti Bersatu Sabah President for entrusting me to hold the post.

"I also expressed my gratitude and appreciation to Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman for recommending me to the then Head of State Tun Ahmadshah Abdullah to be appointed as State Deputy Speaker at that time (2008)," he said when met after leaving the State Legislative Assembly here.

Secretary to the State Legislative Assembly Datuk Bernard Dalinting and two of Mositun's staff met him prior to him leaving the office.

Mositun, who is also PBS Secretary-General, said he wished to also thank three Speakers whom he served during his tenure, namely Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak and present Speaker Datuk Seri Syed Abas Syed Ali. - Hayati Dzulkifli
