Polls losers urge Musa to stepdown
Kota Kinabalu: Six senior officials of Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (PKAN) Monday urged Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman Tan Sri Musa Aman who was sworn-in as Chief Minister before Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin on May 10 to step down and allow Pakatan Harapan and Parti Warisan to manage the federal and state governments without much interference. Its sec-gen Dr Paul Porodong , treasurer Thomas Tsen and division chiefs Roger Chong (Tg Aru), Dr Oswald Igau (Bingkor), Peter Beaty (Sook), and Wahid Ismail (Kawang) said:

"Let's give a chance to Pakatan Harapan under the leadership of Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad and Chief Minister Datuk Sri Mohd Shafie Apdal to do their respective duties and responsibilities as mandated by the people... if they will fail to do their jobs then by all means the people the right to criticise them.

But in the meantime please let us allow them to do their jobs," said the six, who lost in the recent election.

Legally speaking, they acknowledged that Sabah is now facing a peculiar situation with Musa and Shafie both installed as Chief Minister within 24 hours of each other.

If a vote of no confidence will be the solution Shafie has the advantage based on the present number of elected representatives aligned with the Warisan-State government comprising parties like PKR, Upko, and DAP.

"Hence we would like to declare our support to the PH-Warisan governments and advise Musa to step down gracefully," the concerned candidates of PKAN reiterated.

They said the election was over and the people has spoken therefore, whatever transpired during the campaign period should be put aside .

"Its now time to be united and work in unison for the betterment of our country and Sabah in particular," they stressed adding that change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end. - Nikko Fabian
