Five hurt in KK mishaps
Kota Kinabalu: Three people were slightly injured when the vehicle they were travelling in skidded into a drain near Towering, Penampang, on Tuesday. It was learnt that a 34-year-old Chinese was heading from Lintas to Penampang with his two friends when the incident occurred at about 2am.

When they reached the roundabout near a Petronas fuel station, the Toyota Hilux they were in crashed into a divider.

The vehicle then rammed into a parked lorry before ending up in a nearby drain. All three sustained light injuries in the early morning incident.

Meanwhile, two siblings were injured when the vehicle they were in rammed into a tree along Jalan Kopungit, here, Tuesday.

The driver in his 40s was ferrying his two children from the Sacred Heart church to their house in Penampang in the 1.50pm incident.

When they reached the scene, he lost control of his Isuzu D-Max due to heavy rain and rammed into a tree.

His 13-year-old daughter was slightly injured on her head while his other five-year-old child was extricated by firefighters before they were sent to the hospital. - Jimmy Goh
