Pandelela-Jun Hoong miss out on bronze

Kuala Lumpur: National divers Pandelela Rinong and Cheong Jun Hoong failed to deliver a medal for the Malaysian squad at the 21st Fina World Cup in Wuhan, China on Thursday.Competing in the women's 10m synchronised platform final, Pandelela and Jun Hoong were pipped to the bronze medal by Canada's Caeli McKay-Meaghan Benfeito by a difference of only 5.04 points.The Canadians scored 324.42 to claim bronze while the national duo garnered 319.38 points in fourth place.ADVERTISEMENT The gold medal was claimed by host divers Zhang Jiaqi-Zhang Minjie who dominated from the beginning collecting 366.12 points after 5 dives, while North Korea's Kim Mi Hwa-Kim Kwang Hui took silver with 328.98 points.Pandelela and Jun Hoong started off well keeping close to the Chinese duo in second spot after two dives but the North Korean and Canadian divers overtook them after the third dive.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
