100 participate in Telupid karate scouting

Kota Kinabalu: Some 100 athletes participated in the Talent scouting programme (TID) organised by Sabah Karate Association (SKA) at SK Telupid on Saturday (June 9).The 12-hour session from 9am -9pm including a two-hour briefing on latest WKF rule was conducted by SKA Secretary general Julian Chin and Danny Fredoline.Julian was delighted with the response received from the particpants in the district.

"We are delighted to see the programme received an overwhelming response from karate enthusiatic in the district of Telupid."This is a good telling factor that sport is pretty much alive and kicking in the district. We will continue to come and support SKA Telupid in the development of the game in the near future."He also expressed his gratitude to be given the honour to officiate the SK Telupid karate club under the supervision of coach Andy Angkangon where they have 20 members to date.

He said Arthur Adrian Angkangon will be part of the state team that will take part at the the 28th National Cadet, Junior and Under-21 Championship 2018 that will be held at Dewan Seri Perdana, Kolej Sains Kesihatan, Ipoh, Perak on June 21-24.

As for Shahrul Shibba Rohadi, he will be part of the state team for the Milo Open Karate championship end of this month. - GL Oh
