Rayzam runs a season-best

Kota Kinabalu: Rayzam Shah Wan Sofian ran a season-best 13.86 seconds to win bronze in the men's 110m hurdles at a European meet in Zeulenroda, Germany on June 9.He finished behind Italian Paolo Dal Molin (13.54s) and Erik Bainuwelt (13.57s) from Germany.The time he set will be a major boost to his confidence as he is aiming for a time of 13.67s to be a finalist in the Asian Games to be held in Palembang, Indonesia in August.

The SEA Games gold medallist, who had a forgettable outing in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in April by finishing sixth with a time of 14.03s, in the qualifying round was happy with his running."It was a good run and I am very happy with the progress I made so far since I arrived in Leipzig, Germany almost a month ago. I will compete in a meet again next week and hopefully I can get a better time."There may be another competition before I return to Malaysia on July 1.
