Molest victim wants to withdraw her police report

Kota Kinabalu: The Magistrate's Court fixed July 2 for mention of the case involving a 33-year-old man from China charged with molesting a local woman.Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie set the date for Yu Feng Shan when the complainant told the court Monday that she wished to withdraw the police report against Yu.

The court postponed the case pending instruction from the Deputy Public Prosecutor's office.

Yu is accused of outraging the modesty of the 29-year-old woman at 11pm on May 31 this year at the 999 Club, near here.

The offence under Section 354 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 10 years or a fine, or whipping, or with any two of the punishments, on conviction.

Yu, who was not represented, was ordered remanded further pending the date.

In another case, four men were slapped with fine for committing various traffic offences.

They were Henry Butod, 40, Alex Goh Tangulau, 21, Mohd Farris Frslee Ismail, 30, and Muhaymin Mubin, 23.

Henry was fined RM2,000 or a week's jail for using a car road tax for another car while Goh was fined RM500 in default one week's jail.

Mohd Farris and Muhaymin were fined RM500 or a week's jail each for riding and driving their motorcycle and car without licences, respectively.

The duo were also fined another RM350 or a week's jail for riding and driving their vehicles without insurance coverage.
