Raping 17-yr-old sister: Two brothers charged

Kota Kinabalu: Two brothers were charged with raping their own sister.The men aged 24 and 26 were brought before Registrar Rani Maan to face the charge against them, Tuesday.However, no plea was taken after the charge was read to them.

The brothers are accused of committing incest with their 17-year-old sister at 2am on June 6, this year, at a house in Papar.The offence under Section 375B of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between 10 and 30 years, and whipping, on conviction.The court set July 27 for mention of the case and their plea to be taken.Pending the date, the duo were ordered remanded further as no bail was offered to them.

Earlier, the brothers, who were not represented, asked for bail to be granted, saying that they have families who needed them.They also told the court that they were also working.

But, Deputy Public Prosecutor Dinesh Raja objected to bail on the grounds that the alleged victim is their sister and that there is a high possibility they might tamper with the victim and other prosecution witnesses.Meanwhile, eight people were jailed four months each for entering the State illegally.They were Ben Robin, Robin Harun, Suhalmi Perekso, Ansar Iblani, Madz Iblani, Mulpin Talaelong, Turah Sahak and Sakur Jumala.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
