Ginibun is made Deputy Speaker

Kota Kinabalu: Pensioner Datuk George Ginibun, 76, has been appointed a Sabah Deputy Legislative Assembly Speaker. He was sworn in before Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and his consort Toh Puan Norlidah Tan Sri R.M. Jasni at Istana Negeri on Tuesday (pic).He then signed the letter of appointment witnessed by Kota Kinabalu High Court Judge Datuk Mairin @ Martin Idang.ADVERTISEMENT George, who hails from Penampang, was a former Chief Executive Officer of Sabah Credit Corporation. He also served in the Health Department and Agriculture Department for 37 years.He has a Masters in Business Administration from University of Miami, USA, and hoped that his experience as the former Permanent Chairman of Upko would help him in discharging his duties and responsibilities.Apart from George, Datuk Ahmad Abdul Rahman was also appointed as the new State Deputy Speaker on June 8.
