Kota Kinabalu: WARNING signs have been placed to deter the public from entering the Likas Lagoon, Kota Kinabalu, as efforts are still ongoing to capture a crocodile that was seen there.State Wildlife Department spokesperson Siti Nur'Ain Ampuan Acheh said warning signs were placed at three locations near the lagoon to warn the public not to enter the area for any recreational activity or fishing.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

The actions came after a video showing a crocodile swimming in the lagoon, which is understood to be a detention pond, went viral on WhatsApp recently. This prompted the department to install traps there to catch the croc.

Siti said the crocodile has not been captured until now but efforts are continuing and the department's personnel is monitoring its presence.
