Stabbing her friend to death: Woman for hospital

Kota Kinabalu: A 67-year-old woman who caused the death of a retired teacher friend was ordered to be detained at the Hospital Mesra in Bukit Padang. Sessions Court Judge Azreena Aziz made the order for Chin Su Ching during ruling of her case, Friday.Chin was accused of committing culpable homicide not amounting to murder of Ngui Lim Kiau, 64, at 3pm on Sept 23, 2016 at a house in Kepayan Ridge, near here. ADVERTISEMENT The offence under Section 304 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 30 years, and liability of a fine, on conviction.In her ruling, Azreena held that the latter was responsible for the death of Ngui by stabbing her with a knife.She also said that at the time of commission, there was a balance of probability that Chin had suffered a relapsed which caused her to be unaware of her action. Azreena ruled that in such situation, the court decided that Section 84 of the Penal Code be applied and ordered Chin to be detained at the Hospital Mesra in Bukit Padang pending the Order from the Sabah Head of State.ADVERTISEMENT Eleven prosecution and two defence witnesses were called during the hearing.Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Husna Abdul Halim conducted the prosecution while Chin was represented by counsel Idrus Ibrahim.

He is accused of fondling the girl's right breast at 2.30pm on July 3 this year by the roadside in Taman Sempelang, Tanjung Aru.
