Good review for 2-hour KK free walking tour

Kota Kinabalu: The free walking tour recently initiated by the Sabah Tourism Board for local and foreign visitors here received good reviews from City Hall's Tourism Committee. The group of 30 people, led by City Hall's Tourism Committee Chairperson Datuk Nancy Ho, started the two-hour walking tour at City Hall's building compound together with representatives from Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents, Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment and Sri Pelancongan Sabah.Also present were those from the Institute Development Studies Sabah, Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, Town and Regional Planning Department, Sabah Art Gallery and City Hall. ADVERTISEMENT The tour which began at 9am took the group to Jalan Gaya to see art displayed at the KK Street Art Competition for public toilets around the city. A total of 15 bin centres within the city were picked to contest in the competition with RM8,500 cash prize awaiting the winners. First place winner will take home RM3,500 and certificate. From Jalan Gaya, the group continued the tour to the Atkinson Clock Tower and proceeded to the Segama bridge to see for themselves the handicrafts sold by locals. They resumed the tour towards Sinsuran where the tour ended at Kadaiku, a souvenir shop selling local handicrafts. ADVERTISEMENT The group gave positive review to the overall tour despite having to endure the hot and humid weather.
