Jolly Fairy gallops to Merdeka Cup title

Kota Kinabalu: Jolly Fairy of Solid Stable won the Merdeka Cup Race 2018 held at Tambalang Race Course, Tuaran, Sunday.The race organised by the Royal Sabah Turf Club (RSTC) saw Jolly Fairy, with jockey Iduan astride, edging out Honey Star of Lee Suh Khim/Andy Lim by a quarter horse length, bringing home RM11,500 in cash prize as well as souvenir trophies for the owner, trainer, and jockey.First runner-up Honey Star, ridden by Mohd Sairie was six-horse lengths in front of second runner-up Gold Dream of Awang Shamsi, ridden by Ajiri.

Honey Star and Gold Dream brought home RM4,450 and RM2,250 in cash prize respectively along with souvenir trophies.Super Star V of Lu Wei, ridden by YK Foong, earned the fourth spot winning RM1,100 in cash prize and souvenir trophies.Meanwhile, the KK Classic Cup race saw Zack and Champ both of Solid Stable grabbing the champion and first runner-up title respectively.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Kimberly Pride of Ngui Yun Thiam (ridden by Shabdanie) emerged second runner-up while Amazing Grace of Wong Su Yin (ridden by Abul) was fourth.
