Semporna: Marine police seized 92 jerry cans containing petrol worth RM5,060 from a boat during "Op Pensura Khas" at Bulipatuid waters, off here, Tuesday.

Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) Commander DCP Datuk Hazani Ghazali said three suspects – two Malaysians and a Filipino – aged between 19 and 32 were also detained.

He said acting on a tip, a marine police team went to the scene in an undercover boat, assisted by PSC 61 Patrol Boat, and intercepted the boat skippered by a 32-yearold suspect.

"Upon inspection, they found the boat carrying a total of 92 jerry cans (25 litres each) containing petrol," he added. The boat worth RM6,600 and two Yamaha 75 horsepower Yamaha engines worth RM20,000 each were also confiscated.

The case is being investigated under the Control of Supply Act 1961.
